Microsoft introduces the Health Vault

by David Allen

The software giant Microsoft has launched the Health Vault, which is what it says on the box - a place the user can store their medical information.

A study carried in the UK found that around 13 per cent of the UK population are interested in health matters and furthermore would be very interested in using a centralised place to store information on their medical history.

The UK is in a phase of saving money, and it seems that according to the research carried out, many of those actively interested in their health do not need to use the full quota of services available from the NHS.

This means that this new service from Microsoft has the potential to save the NHS around £5 billion a year!
