BT has Northumbrian broadband plans

Rural broadband coverage is poor in many parts of the country.

However, in some areas the issue is more extreme than others and Northumbria, in the north of England, is one of those exceptional places.

The problem with an area such as this, is the wide open spaces and the distance between buildings and the exchanges.

Broadband is only possible within a certain distance of the exchange as it begins to get weaker the further it gets away from the exchange.

The case has been taken up by the conservative candidate for Berwick on Tweed, Anne-Marie Trevelyan.

She has met with BT in order to try to seek a solution to this problem.

It was reported that there is a lot that can be done to improve the service in the region.
