Scientists use website to build nuclear reactors

by David Allen

It seems like the script to a film, but it appears that amateur scientists, with the help of the online science community Fusor.net, are developing homemade nuclear reactors!

The idea is to develop these reactors to help solve the world’s energy crisis.

Fusion is a process where atoms are forced together, whereas nuclear fission is where atoms are split and this is the method used in the nuclear industry.

The Fusor website has been playing a major role in the development of this power source, especially now that these amateurs are sharing experiences openly on the site with other members.

A fusion reactor has always been a dream too far; it offers all of the benefits of nuclear power without the apparent dangers.
