BBC to look into website slowdown

The BBC has said that it is looking into why some online users had difficulties with the BBC website during the past week’s sporting events.

Mainly complaints have been seen on the micro blogging site Twitter, from disappointed viewers who reported that the site had crashed in the early evening and therefore they were unable to the watch either the World Cup football or Wimbledon.

Some of the online viewers reported receiving the depressing “500 Internal Server Error” message instead of the BBC website.

The crash happened on Thursday at around five o’clock, the time when Italy was just about to be knocked out of the World Cup by losing to Slovakia and at Wimbledon the longest running match in history was being played.
