Apple to give iPhone 4 software update

It looks as if Apple will launch a patch for the iPhone 4, taking the current iOS4 software to iOS4.0.1 in order to fix the much publicised issue with the internal aerial.

In the meantime, there are plenty of home made fixes around, although it is not recommended to attempt many of these ideas.

The most popular solution is holding the phone the Steve Jobs way, but there are other fixes such as tapping the casing, applying nail varnish to seal the antenna points, wrapping it in elastic bands or by using a femtocell device.

Alternatively, the simple and most effective solution might be to wait for Apple to release this software fix and see if that actually works, then grab a handful of elastic bands!
