3 CEO expects slow start for FaceTime

by David Allen

From a rather strange announcement from the CEO of 3, Kevin Russell, it seems that he believes the Apple iPhone 4 app, FaceTime, will not catch on.

This is a surprise because 3 is now stocking the iPhone 4, so although honesty is appreciated by consumers, saying something like that about a major product would seem to be non productive, to say the least.

The thing about FaceTime is that people who are used to talking on a web cam will be completely at home with it, while for other users it is going to take a bit of time, as it could seem like opening the front door in your underwear so to speak.

Apparently, Mr Russell has been wrong before; he doubted that the iPad would have in impact on the market.
