BB creator interested in Five

John De Mol, the creator of the reality TV series Big Brother is being reported as partnering with the Greek broadcaster the Antenna Group, with a view to making a bid for the UK terrestrial channel, Five.

A successful bid would put De Mol’s company Endemol in control of a channel that has really struggled over the past couple years with falling advertising revenues.

But with Channel Four axing Endemol’s long running reality show Big Brother a deal such as this could mean both the show and the channel benefiting from a change of direction.

However, there is some stiff competition from the likes of ITV, Sky TV and Time Warner and the question is which bidder would offer Five the best chance of thriving in a difficult market?

Next month the bidders will be narrowed down to just two!
