IBM chooses Firefox

July 5, 2010

Firefox has been getting a lot of publicity recently and most of it appears to be good.

Another bit of good news for the browser comes from the old computer giant IBM.

The IBM group has chosen the Mozilla browser to be the default browser for its four million employees around the world.

This is good news for Firefox as the browser is given instant credibility and employees used to working with the browser are more likely to install it at home too.

It is the way that the browser can be fully customised to suit the individual user’s requirements that makes it popular.

This means that although each computer will have the same browser, the way that the browser works could be completely different from machine to machine.
