BBC in trouble over fake hoodies

July 8, 2010

If there is one thing that the BBC had, it was credibility, especially when it comes to news and factual programming, but now when it came down to making a series about a housing estate in Bristol.

The BBC’s credibility as a broadcaster was questioned following the showing of scenes filmed on a dark evening, with teenagers wearing hoodies and with their faces covered, confronting the police.

This was to be expected as the show is about anti social behaviour and how it can be tackled, but after the episode was shown on Monday the complaints started to roll in, as this clip was filmed on a different estate and was clearly used to make the area look bad.

According to the producer, Kent Upshon, the mix-up was a genuine mistake.
