ECI chosen for next gen broadband

The rollout of fibre optic broadband is a huge task for BT’s Openreach division and in many cases it would be impossible for the division to complete the work without the assistance of outside contractors.

This is why ECI Telecom has been chosen as one of BT’s strategic partners, to support the company in the job of improving internet coverage throughout the UK.

The arrangement with ECI Telecom will see the company bringing in its own multi service access node (MSA) as part of the fibre optic roll out.

BT will also be using the ECI 1Net Framework, which is essential to help optimise migration to the faster fibre optic technology.

According to the CEO of Openreach, Steve Robertson, this arrangement with ECI will help improve the service offered to providers.
