The set-top box maker, Humax, announced further details about the new HDR Fox T2 set-top box at a press event.

According to the commercial director, Graham North, and the chief technologist, Bob Hannent, the equipment will be launched in two weeks time and will cost £329.

The HDR Fox T2 will feature a 500 GB hard drive and offer access to the free-to-view digital TV service, Freeview, in both SD and HD.

There were rumours that the set-top box would feature both Freeview and Freesat tuners, but this has now been ruled out, the reason being mainly cost.

Although there is a lot of talk about Project Canvas, the HDR Fox T2 will offer access to the BBC iPlayer and other catch up and on demand services.
