BBC takes legal action against pirates

The management of BBC Scotland has taken steps to make anyone found distributing copies of “The Scheme” guilty of committing a civil and criminal offence.

The Scheme follows the lives of six families living on a housing estate in Kilmarnock, but the problem with this particular programme is that the series was taken off the air halfway through the series in May.

This followed one of the stars being convicted for assault.

Since then, the BBC has learned that the final two episodes have been pirated and could find their way onto the black market.

In order to try to stop this from happening, the BBC went to court in Edinburgh and received an order banning the distribution of the final episodes.
