BT extends Unilever contract

BT has signed a £144 deal with the multi brand business Unilever.

This is an extension to an existing four-year contract that will see BT operating a unified communications and wireless technology service around a thousand sites located in a hundred countries.

The original deal was first negotiated in 2002.

It was in fact the first deal of its kind in the global communications market undertaken by BT and the new extension to this deal makes it the biggest private contact on BT’s books and ensures that it carries on until 2013.

BT will make sure that Unilever’s IT infrastructure is working at 100 per cent wherever possible, with the client’s staff being able to effectively communicate with each other via voice and video.
