Bing gains market share

July 16, 2010

Bing, the search engine provided by Microsoft, has gained more ground on the competition over the last month and now holds 12.7 per cent of the US market, which is up by 0.6 per cent on the previous month.

The figures have been compiled by comScore, which shows over 16.4 billion searches being made during the month of June.

This has increased by around 3 per cent on the previous month.

Naturally, at the top of the table is Google, which still has 62 per cent and way back in second place is Yahoo with 19 per cent of the market share.

However, Bing is slowly getting closer to Yahoo and although it may take some time to reach them, it would be a considered a victory to catch and overtake them.
