Keen HTC watchers will be interested to learn that news has spilled out onto the net of the next generation Desire smartphone.

SuperEtrader has leaked the spec of the HTC Desire HD, although it will possibly be called the Ace; either way, the rumoured details have been aired.

We’re talking a much more spacious 4.3 inch display, an 8 megapixel camera, 1GHz processor, 4GB of memory (expandable to 32GB) and a uni-body aluminium design.

The handset will run Android 2.2, and be capable of 720p video capture, SRS surround sound, and further speculation is that it will come with a built-in e-book reader app.

Of course, all this might be erroneous, but with the release date allegedly slated for October, it can’t be too long before HTC puts its cards on the table (and we’ll see if there’s an Ace).
