eBay launches iPhone app

July 20, 2010

The online auction site, eBay, has launched an app for the iPhone that allows shoppers to virtually try on clothes to see what they would look like in them, before they actually buy the item.

The app is free to download and it will offer the virtual try on and a closet to place the clothes in, as well as an outfit builder, social media integrating and a virtual style gallery that brings the latest styles and fashions for the user to look at.

Clothing is a major market for the likes of eBay, Amazon and other online retailers, in fact eBay is expecting to reach around $1.5 billion through its mobile platform this year.

This app compliments the Fashion Portal launched back in April and shows the faith that business has in mobile technology.
