Apple in email trouble

July 23, 2010

Apple is just one company in a group of firms being sued by InNova, which claims it created spam email filtering software technology first.

Among the firms included in the lawsuit are Google, Dell and Yahoo, in fact in total there are around thirty six companies named in the lawsuit, which claims the firms used the technology without permission for a long time.

The InNova patent was granted around fifteen years ago to the inventor of the system, Robert Uomini.

This was when email was in its early stages of development.

The patent is for technology that can determine what is spam and what is a genuine message that the user wants to receive.

There has been no word from any of the companies named in the lawsuit, yet!
