The Nokia C6 is now available to purchase online in the UK, from the Finnish company’s website.

The Symbian powered C6 has a focus on social networking and generally keeping in touch with friends. It offers a slide-out Qwerty keyboard for typing, and widgets for Facebook and Twitter, plus easy access to your email accounts.

In terms of tech specs, the handset boasts a 3.2 inch 640 x 360 resolution display, a 5 megapixel camera (with autofocus and flash), 200MB of internal storage (which can be expanded to 16GB via microSD), bluetooth, GPS and an FM radio.

The phone is yours sim-free for the price of £289. It’s expected to arrive on contract deals with major networks shortly, including Vodafone and T-Mobile.

As an added bonus, unlike Nokia’s C5, the C6’s name doesn’t remind us of a certain egg-headed inventor from the eighties who unwisely expanded from the computer industry into the field of battery powered road-going deathtrap tricycles.
