iMac rumours prove true

Rumours that Apple is preparing to launch an updated version of the iMac have proved to be true, with the company releasing details of a new iMac Line today.

Speculation started when Apple stores started to run out of the 27-inch iMac.

Customers who decided to wait, rather than buy an alternative version, look like being rewarded for their patience.

The first new iMac line since October 2009 includes the latest Intel Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors and powerful new graphics including the ATI Radeon HD 5750.

With prices starting at $1,199, the latest iMacs offer dual-core processor speeds up to 3.6 GHz and quad-core speeds up to 2.93 GHz and.

“We took the world’s best all-in-one and made it even better,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.

“With the latest processors, high-performance graphics and signature aluminum and glass design, customers are going to love the latest iMac.”
