It seems that the Samsung Galaxy tablet could be officially announced as soon as next week.
As we said at the weekend, it seems that this tablet will be the first big challenger to the iPad of the many which are due to emerge in the coming months, as it will be out in September (according to Reuters).
And now CrunchGear reports that there’s a Samsung press event scheduled for next week, to launch new products (“a new dimension of wonder” no less), which the President of the company will be speaking at.
As the site speculates, it isn’t too much of a leap to imagine that the tablet will be unveiled, seeing as it should be released next month. All eyes will be on Samsung next Wednesday for the official specs (hopefully).
Currently, we know that the Galaxy tablet will be an Android based effort with a 7 inch (possibly AMOLED) display. It’s thought that it will likely employ a 1.2GHz processor, backed up by 16GB of storage, wi-fi and 3G.
