Wikileaks, a website that publishes leaked documents alleging government and corporate misconduct, has been much in the news after it leaked documents about the war in Afghanistan.

With the website’s founder, Julian Assange, being accused of having blood on his hands as a result of the leak, one of the security researcher involved with the site was detained at the US border and questioned for three hours, last Thursday.

The researcher, Jacob Appelbaum, a US citizen, was stopped at the Newark, New Jersey, airport, when he tried to enter the country to attend a hacker conference

It is believed he was questioned about Wikileaks and the whereabouts of Mr Assange.

Assange denies claims that US informants were harmed after the so-called Afghan War Diary was released.

The documents concern unreported civilian deaths and claim that the Taliban has been supported by some members of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency.
