Nokia N8 to finally arrive in two weeks?

The long awaited new high-end handset from Nokia, the N8, might finally be released in two weeks time.

The release date has been set for August 26th by online retailer MobileFun, and while that isn’t a cast-iron guarantee by any means, it sits well with what we’ve heard thus far. At the end of July, SlashGear reported that a late August release was a likely prospect.

The N8 comes with a 3.5 inch AMOLED touchscreen, 16GB of memory, GPS, bluetooth and 3G, running Symbian^3.

The camera is perhaps the highlight of the package, however, as Nokia claims it rivals the quality of a digital compact. It’s a 12 megapixel affair which is capable of recording HD quality video.

Nokia’s N8 will set you back £420 sim-free. In terms of operators, it will be available on Vodafone, and reportedly T-Mobile, with O2 rumoured as well. Expect those announcements to begin soon.

  3. Regarding India, it’s a month old article but Mobiclue.com says: “Launch date of Nokia N8 in India would [be] around the Diwali season, and it will cost 22000 INR before taxes.”

I think Kenya release is pegged at the third quarter…
