Nokia 5250 budget phone confirmed

Two weeks ago, rumours were rife about the Nokia 5250, a replacement mobile for the Finnish firm’s 5230.

And now Nokia has confirmed that the 5250 is a reality, as well as providing those all important juicy spec details.

Although being a budget phone, don’t expect the Earth. Indeed, Electricpig.co.uk reports that the 2.8 inch display is a resistive touchscreen, not a capacitive model.

Other specs include 512MB of internal memory (expandable up to 16GB), and a 2 megapixel camera, but no 3G or wi-fi. This is all to keep costs down, with the mobile retailing at just over £90 sim-free.

The Nokia 5250 should be out on shelves before the end of the year.
