Dragons fight over Kymera wand

The Kymera wand took the Dragons Den by storm, with all five entrepreneurs making a bid for a share in the company.

The wand controls infra-red devices, from TVs to light switches, with just a flick of the wrist.

Inventors Chris Barnardo and Richard Blakesley have sold over 20,000 wands since it was launched a year ago.

Up to 13 gestures can be recorded by the wand, with each one controlling a function such as changing a TV channel, or turning volume up and down.

The technology is similar to that used in the Nintendo Wii.

With five bids on the Dragons Den table, totaling £900,000, the entrepreneurs decided to accept a record-breaking £200,000 bid from Duncan Bannatyne for a 20 percent share in the company.

Bannatyne’s share will drop to 10 percent if first year profits from the device reach £1.2 million.
