Official Kinect accessories unveiled

Think that Microsoft’s Kinect motion controller isn’t going to set you back enough at £130 when it launches in November? (Well, slightly less than that if you shop around online).

Then you can splash some more cash on the official accessories for the peripheral, a range of which is being produced by Performance Designed Products.

So what Microsoft approved extras are on offer for the company’s great motion control hope of ensnaring the casual gaming masses on the Xbox 360? Basically, more mounting action than you can find on the Discovery Channel.

Firstly, there’s the TV mount, which allows the owner to attach the Kinect to any size television from a 26 inch screen up to a 60 inch. It uses a standard VESA spec, and will cost around £26.

If you’d rather not perch it on your TV, there’s always the Kinect tripod floor stand, which will set you back about £20. PDP is also producing a wall mount, which allows you to attach the Kinect to the inside of your chimney. Or your wall, should you prefer, and this will be the cheapest accessory on offer at around a tenner.

Finally, there’s the cable extension for Kinect, which extends the lead for the device by over nine feet, and is set to cost around £32.

Or you can always drag your coffee table over in front of the TV, and stick the unit on that.
