YouTube is busy paddling its oars in the movie streaming world with the launch of a new service which offers free on-demand flicks from some big name companies.

The move comes after Google’s video behemoth struck deals with the likes of Sony, MGM and also Blinkbox, PC Pro reports.

Initially, over 400 movies are on offer, although don’t expect a library full of blockbusters, given that these are free. It’s more focused on cult and classic films, such as Howling IV and Night of the Living Dead.

There are also documentaries here, along with Bollywood hits, and let’s not forget the Batchelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned. A horror film, and probably in more ways than one.

Blinkbox is providing over 150 films, and is willing to give its footage away for free as it will receive money from advertising, as well as raised brand awareness through the partnership with YouTube.

Head on over to the YouTube Films channel to browse through the library for yourself.
