Last week, we wrote about the upcoming HD3 smartphone, which has apparently been renamed the HD7 to reflect its Windows Phone 7 OS.
Well, it seems we could get to see the HD7 in action a lot sooner than we thought, as rumour has it that HTC will be unveiling the handset at an event on September 15th.
In fact, next week’s HTC press event has been known about for a month or so, with previous speculation pointing to the HTC Desire HD (or Ace) to be announced here. Some manner of Android tablet is also on the cards for a reveal, to join the many such planned iPad rivals.
All eyes will be anticipating seeing the HD7, however, as the phone is believed to have a very beefy spec, and of course carries Microsoft’s new operating system. Although given the OS isn’t officially launched until mid-October (the 11th, by all accounts) we have our doubts about this speculation, particularly when you consider the rumoured tech spec as well.
T3 and other sources are reporting that the HD7 will come with a 4.5 inch AMOLED 1200 x 800 display, an 8 megapixel camera, and a 1.5GHz processor, a rather mind-blowing specification which sounds too good to be true. Indeed, that may well prove to be the case, but we’ll have to wait until next week to find out.
