Dell brightened up the Intel Developer Forum with a tablet/laptop hybrid perfect for people who love the portability of a table PC but miss the input speed of a conventional keyboard.

The Inspiron Duo is a ten inch tablet with a nifty keyboard that is revealed when the screen is rotated.

The Windows 7 based device, which has a dual core Intel Atom N550 processor, was described by Dell executive Dave Zavelson as “the world’s most powerful ten inch tablet.”

The Inspiron Duo will offer WiMAX connectivity and should be available next year.

At the other end of the spectrum, Dell’s Data Centre Solutions division has announced the availability of Viking, a high-density eight to 12 core server.
