The sequel to Samsung’s Wave smartphone is due to land in the UK come December.
This news comes directly from Samsung’s official Twitter account, which when questioned about the release date, replied: “We don’t have an exact date, but the Wave II will be available in the UK from December 2010.”
The Wave II comes with a larger 3.7 inch display, although it will be an LCD affair this time, not an AMOLED touchscreen as seen on the original. However, just like the first Wave, it will carry a 1GHz processor, and a 5 megapixel HD capable camera. The phone will run Samsung’s own Bada operating system.
The price for the handset is expected to be around the £375 mark. The Wave remains in the shadow of the Galaxy S, which has driven Samsung’s smartphone sales this year, shifting some 5 million units thus far.
