Angry Birds stuffed toys incoming

Another of this week’s hot topics has been Angry Birds, given that Chillingo, the publisher of the mobile game, has been bought up by EA.

However, the developer Rovio has retained the rights to the game, and has just published a special Halloween edition with 45 news levels itself.

And it seems Rovio has plans beyond mere mobile gaming. The developer is looking into flogging stuffed toys of the furious and much downloaded birdies (Angry Birds has racked up some 7 million downloads).

Pocket Lint reports that all the main bird characters will be represented save for the large beaked green ones, and judging from the reader comments on the site’s story already (“where can we get these?”) they’ll probably be pretty popular stocking fillers.

They will, of course, be responsible for an epidemic of ornament and vase breaking incidents on Christmas morning across the land, as youngsters hurl them about at each other. Assuming that these toys are going to be mass produced, and will make the migratory trip across the Atlantic to the UK in time for December.
