Virgin Media has announced a deal will NBC Universal that will boost its TV Choice on Demand service, prior to tomorrow’s launch of Sky’s internet-based VoD service, Anytime+.

Virgin Media’s latest deal will allow it to offer on-demand access to NBC Universal’s content, which includes Heroes, House, The Office (US) and 30 Rock, from 1 December.

NBC Universal’s shows will be available in HD through TV, website and mobile platforms.

The news follows the announcement that BBC One HD will launch on Virgin Media, Sky, Freeview and Freesat from 3 November.

The new channel will feature shows such as Nigel Slater’s Simple Suppers, and The Apprentice, and will offer the first ever HD broadcast of EastEnders, on Christmas Day.
