Google celebrates Halloween with Scooby Doo doodle

Google is marking All Hallows’ Eve this year with a Scooby Doo doodle.

And it’s not just a single picture this time, but a series of five doodles which you click through to tell a story.

Albeit a pretty basic story. A mysterious trick-or-treating candy ghost is shown in the first frame, with the intrepid amateur detective team following its trail of sweets, then Scooby and Shaggy being chased by the ghost.

Finally, the luminous “ghost” villain is unmasked at the end, just as in every episode of the cartoon show (although Google did miss out the bit where Scooby and Shaggy make a giant sandwich of some variety).

Google has displayed four doodles this month, and is currently going at the much increased pace of one per week.
