The Queen now has 205,000 fans on her Facebook page. She had just shy of 200,000 this morning, so it appears that her explosion in social networking popularity over the last 48 hours is now spluttering out. The pro and anti royalty debates are still raging on though, with the latest story posted gaining 1,500 comments from Facebook users, some positive and supportive, and some far more critical of the royals.

Android’s rocketing rise to success has been confirmed by the latest figures from Gartner. The Q3 stats which show smartphone operating system market share worldwide still have Symbian top of the table, but it’s slipped considerably from 44.6% to 36.6%. Android is now firmly in second place, having shot up from 3.5% to a figure of 25.5%, blowing past iOS and Blackberry. iOS remained steady in third place, dropping a touch from 17.1% to 16.7%, but BlackBerry slipped a lot further, from 20.7% to 14.8%, crashing into fourth position (it was second this time last year).
