The case of Paul Chambers came to court again today, the man who tweeted a joke about blowing Doncaster airport “sky high” when it was closed in bad weather back in January. Chambers posted the flippant message on Twitter, and when the authorities saw it, he was taken in for questioning, and subsequently fined and given a criminal record. The court was unmoved by his appeal, however, and his conviction still stands. Stephen Fry has reportedly offered to pay his fine and costs, calling the verdict “ludicrous”.

Activision’s latest shooter in the Call of Duty series, Black Ops, has outsold its predecessor in its first 24 hours on sale. Black Ops netted a stunning $360 million inside a day, where Modern Warfare 2 managed $310 million. Black Ops is also expected to blow past Modern Warfare 2′s five day sales tally, in which it netted $550 million. It will be interesting to see how long Black Ops remains number one in the video game chart – Modern Warfare 2 managed an impressive nine weeks.
