iPlayer coming to BT Vision

by Janet Harris

IPTV service BT Vision is adding the BBC iPlayer catch-up service to its platform over the next five months.

Roll out of the service should be completed by April next year.

BT Vision viewers will have nearly all of the content available on the online iPlayer.

The partnership marks a change of heart by BT which just last summer was accused of limiting download speeds for users of video services like the BBC iPlayer, at peak times.

The iPlayer will replace the BBC content currently shown by BT on its TV Replay service.

BT Vision also announced that Sky Sports has been taken up by 10% of subscribers and most of these are existing customers who upgraded their packages.

BT launched Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 on its IPTV service on 1 July.
