T-Mobile Android 2.2 update for Galaxy S delayed until next week

A few hours ago we reported on the non-appearing Froyo update for the Galaxy S owners with T-Mobile, which was supposed to be rolled out on Kies today.

Actually, it was supposed to be rolled out yesterday, and has been subject to several delays already. Galaxy S owners were getting angry on the T-Mobile forums asking where Android 2.2 was, with no response forthcoming from the network operator, until now.

And the predictable result is that Android 2.2 won’t be made available today – in fact, the bad news is, you’ll have to wait until next week.

T-Mobile posted on its forum: “Unfortunately the 2.2 update will not be available via Kies today as expected and Samsung have confirmed that FOTA will not feature as part of this update, but should appear at a later date. Samsung are indicating the firmware will be made available at some point next week.”

Unfortunately, then, you’ll have to do some more waiting. Perhaps there is a chance 2.2 could be out tomorrow, but T-Mobile is playing it safe after saying it would be released the last couple of days, and failing to deliver.

We definitely wouldn’t count on it, though, and it’s starting to look like there’s a danger this particular frozen yoghurt will have melted by the time it’s pushed out on T-Mobile.
