Bioware has unveiled the first piece of downloadable content for the sequel to Dragon Age, entitled The Exiled Prince.

Buyers who pre-order Dragon Age II before January 11th will get upgraded to the Signature Edition of the game for free, which will come with £15 of extras including The Exiled Prince DLC.

The other extras include a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack, and an exclusive in-game armoury featuring a number of new weapons. After January 11th, The Exiled Prince will cost 560 MS points.

The Exiled Prince introduces a noble archer by the name of Sebastian Vael, and involves the players joining him in his quest to avenge the murder of his family. He will also be available as a follower throughout the rest of the majority of the game, apparently, assuming you nail his quest and achieve vengeance (we’d imagine).

Mark Darrah, Executive Producer of Dragon Age II, commented: “Our goal for the Dragon Age II DLC is to extend Hawke’s journey and the Dragon Age universe by introducing additional characters with meaningful story lines and intense, dynamic missions.”

“Not only will The Exiled Prince allow players to experience Sebastian’s powerful revenge story, but they will also be able to utilize him as a follower throughout Hawke’s rise to power in Dragon Age II.”

Dragon Age II will be springing onto the PS3, Xbox and PC on March 11th.
