Huawei has unveiled its latest smartphone, the Ideos X5, which is pitched at both business customers and consumers.

Running Android 2.2, the mobile will feature extensive email, document and calendar management tools with business users in mind.

Victor Xu, Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Device, explains: “In today’s always-online world, the line between personal and professional life is blurring. Smartphones play an important role in helping people mange these two aspects of their lives conveniently and simply.”

“The Huawei Ideos X5 smartphone offers a perfect blend of style and technology that allows busy professionals to respond to work issues in real time while staying connected with loved ones and having fun at the same time.”

Tech specs include a 3.8 inch touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera capable of 720p video recording, 4GB of memory, an SD card slot, 3G and wi-fi.

The handset will be released in Asia and New Zealand this month, with other countries such as the UK to follow.
