It isn’t surprising that City Interactive has announced there will be a Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2.

The original game, which casts you in the army boots of a sniper taking on armies in the jungle, certainly had its problems. Critically, it was panned, but the game still sold well.

The Swedish arm of EuroGamer uncovered the fact that the sequel is underway in an interview with Chief Producer Michal Sroczynski.

Details are scant to say the least, with the only real information being that the shooter will use CryEngine 3 as its game engine. It will come out on Xbox, PS3 and PC.

Stuart Black, of Black and Bodycount fame, recently joined City Interactive’s new development studio in London, so could possibly be working on this project. Although the company has a number of shooters in the fire, and his is supposedly a World War 2 themed game.

The PS3 version of the original Sniper: Ghost Warrior isn’t actually out yet – it’s due in the next couple of months.
