Rim watchers all over the world pay attention, because the new range of BlackBerry smartphones for 2011 has been leaked onto the net.

Boy Genius Report got the scoop on this one, with four new models of BlackBerry highlighted.

The BlackBerry Dakota is the next incarnation in the Bold family. It will boast a touchscreen and full Qwerty, a higher resolution display, more memory and HD video recording (on what’s likely to be a 5 megapixel camera). Oh, and the handset will be slimmer, too.

The next BlackBerry Curve has apparently been dubbed the Apollo. Expect slick curved styling for the handset, and an underwhelming 800MHz processor along with a 5 megapixel camera.

Monaco is the working name of the Storm 3 phone, which according to BGR will have the highest resolution display Rim has ever put on a mobile, 800 x 480. It will also come with a chunkier 1.2GHz processor.

Finally, the sequel to the BlackBerry Torch will come with the same 1.2GHz power processor to give it some much needed oomph.

It’s difficult to get excited about the tech specs here, as they really aren’t all that impressive compared to some of the phones we’ve seen recently, let alone what the competition will be bringing out later this year.

However, Rim does have a couple of extra tricks up its sleeve, such as the usage of NFC in these handsets. BlackBerry users will literally be able to hold their phones together and transfer information or files directly.

Future usage might also involve using the handset as a swipe card to enter buildings, or make payments, as we’ve written about before.
