New silver Xbox 360 controller set for March

You may recall that in August of last year, Larry Hyrb, Director of Programming for Xbox Live, showed off a new silver Xbox 360 controller.

The major innovation for the controller is the D-pad, which can be twisted to raise it up. In other words, you can use it as a flat disc or a raised pad.

Apparently the ergonomics of the analogue sticks have also been refined slightly, and the ABXY buttons have lost their colour, being changed to white and grey. While that matches the silver colour scheme better, we’re not sure about the loss of the primary colours, as many games map their on-screen controls using the colours…

Anyhow, the new silver beast now has an official price and launch date for the UK, which Gamerzines pointed out – March 4th, costing £44.99. That might sound pricey, but it comes bundled with a play and charge kit.
