Apple lists all-time top iPhone and iPad apps

Apple has revealed the top iPhone and iPad apps which have sold the most throughout the respective devices’ history.

When it comes to paid-for iPhone apps, the number one was the simple platform game Doodle Jump, not what we expected to see at the top. Angry Birds, which we’d thought would come first, is actually at number four.

Tap Tap Revenge 3, a music rhythm game, is at number two, followed by Pocket God, a god game where you rule over an island, at number three.

When it comes to free iPhone apps, there are no surprises when it comes to the top of the tree: Facebook. The social networking app is followed by Pandora Radio, Google Mobile App, Shazam and Movies by Flixter.

Onto the iPad, and the tablet’s most popular paid apps. Number one is SoundHound, a music manager, followed by StickWars, and then FlightTrack. BackBreaker Football is at number four, followed by Calorie Tracker.

The Apple tablet’s free app chart is led by Pandora Radio, then Google Mobile, and in third place Movies by Flixter. Google Earth is at number four, and then Yelp at number five.

Is that enough apps for you? We thought so. Time for a lie down… or perhaps a go on Angry Birds. Or Doodle Jump, even.
