LG G-Slate bound for the UK?

It seems that the LG G-Slate, which has been announced for the American market, might be coming to the UK as well.

Pocket Lint has been chatting to LG marketing man James Choi about whether the tablet is due in the UK. Choi told them: “That information isn’t available yet. The first announcement was for the Americas. We are planning another announcement pretty soon.”

When questioned further about the fact that the slate is 4G, he continued: “I’ll put it to you this way, even if the 4G version isn’t in the UK…”, before being cut-off by a PR person.

So it would seem a UK launch announcement is potentially on the cards for Mobile World Congress.

The G-Slate is LG’s upcoming Honeycomb powered tablet expected out in the first half of this year. Other rumours currently floating around point to it having a Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and a 3D capable display which doesn’t need glasses, like Nintendo’s 3DS.

The latter point sounds fanciful, to say the least, but if LG has managed to pull off a 10 inch slate with 3D, it’ll be more than a talking point later this year.
