Google doodle marks Burns Night

As you’re no doubt aware if you’re Scottish, tonight is Burns Night.

And Google has marked the occasion in the UK with a Burns themed doodle.

The doodle features the words “like a red red”, complete with a picture of a rose as the second G of the logo.

That is, of course, a reference to his famous poem (and song), “A Red, Red Rose”, where Burns compares his love to a red rose newly sprung in June.

Robert Burns lived from 1759 to 1796. A typical Burns supper involves haggis, whisky, and of course recitations of the great man’s poetry.
