Nintendo 3DS eStore will be open from launch day

Apparently the eStore for the Nintendo 3DS will be open from day one.

Previous information had indicated this wouldn’t be the case, with Nintendo European President Saturo Shibata saying that the online store would be provided by a firmware update at a later date (when speaking at the company’s Amsterdam press conference).

However, EuroGamer has been speaking to Nintendo and apparently the store will be ready for the handheld’s launch. But while it won’t come on the hardware, it will be delivered via an update on launch day.

The eStore will be your one-stop-shop for older stuff such as Game Boy titles, DSiWare, as well as trailers, demos and the like.

The 3DS, as most of you are doubtless aware of by now, launches on March 25th.
