Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook page allegedly hacked

Darren Allan

The Facebook page of CEO Mark Zuckerberg appears to have been hit by a hacking attack.

ComputerWorld reports that the profile at www.facebook.com/markzuckerberg had a message posted on it which appears to have been left by a hacker.

TechCrunch nabbed a screenshot of the offending status update, which read: “Let the hacking begin: If facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a “social business” the way Nobel Price winner Muhammad Yunus described it?”

The Mark Zuckerberg page in question doesn’t appear to exist any more, so has evidently been taken down in the wake of the posting.

It’s another security embarrassment for the social networking site, although at least the user base isn’t affected in this case.

Facebook has yet to comment on the matter. If you listen hard enough, you can hear the faint rustle of a carpet being lifted and the gentle sweeping of a brush coming from Palo Alto, California.
