3 has announced that it will soon be carrying the freshly unveiled Samsung Galaxy Ace.
The follow-on handset from the Galaxy Portal, the Ace comes with a 3.5 inch touchscreen, an 800Mhz processor, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, wi-fi and 3G.
The smartphone runs Froyo – albeit not vanilla, but Android version 2.2.1 – although that’s still behind the likes of the Nexus S which is swanking around with Gingerbread.
It will, however, allow you to use the Ace as a portable wi-fi hotspot, and as 3 points out, this could be quite a tempter given that the company’s One Plan now offers true all-you-can-eat data. Though quite how its 3G network will cope with that, we’re not sure….
We’d expect the Ace to be zinging onto the shelves at some point next month, but no official date has yet been confirmed.
