Apple’s iOS is taking home a healthy share of global Internet traffic, it would seem. More than 2%, in fact, which is the first time the operating system has broken that barrier.

Of all the computers, smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices which are surfing the net across the world, iOS powered Apple gadgets represent 2.06% of all traffic.

This is according to the latest statistics from Net Marketshare. Amongst those countries with the biggest share were the US with 3.4%, the UK with 5.1%, and Australia with 5.6%. Top by miles though, was Singapore on 10%.

When it comes to smartphones worldwide, iOS is in third place with 16% of the market, according to Canalys Q4 estimates. And of course the iPad blazed a tablet trail last year, with Apple shifting nearly 15 million of them.
