Canon release three new IXUS cameras

by Tom Coyne

Canon have unveiled the release of three new compact cameras for their IXUS line up. The 310 HS, the 220 HS, and the 115 HS.

Each camera has 12.1 mega pixel CMOS sensors, 32 different scene modes, and can shoot 1080p videos. Each camera also has the sleek, streamlined casing expected in an IXUS model.

The IXUS 310 HS is the most expensive of the bunch, priced at £300, although it looks like it will be worth the money.

The 310 HS has DIGIC 4 processing, a stainless steel frame, and a f2.0, 24mm, 4.4x zoom lens with optical IS.

It is equipped with a 3.2 inch touch screen, manual controls, and it can take 8.2 shots per second at 3 mega pixel size.

The 310 HS comes in pink brown, or gold, and will be released mid March.

The next camera in the group of three is the IXUS 220 HS, the smallest Canon camera to offer full HD shooting.

The 220 HS has a wide angle 24mm lens, it has a 5x optical zoom lens, and has a 2.7 inch screen.

The 220 HS has a back illuminated CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 processing, and is available in February for £200.

The IXUS 115 HS is the cheaper model, although it still offers a lot. It has a 28mm wide lense, a 4x optical zoom Canon lens with an optical image stabiliser, and a 3 inch pure colour II G LCD.

The 115 HS is available early February for £180 and is available in 4 colours, silver, grey, pink, and blue.
