According to the Wall Street Journal, the iPad 2 is approaching its final stages.

This report signifies that the new Apple tablet device has finally gone into full production.

Reports have stated that the iPad 2 will feature a FaceTime camera, and a faster graphics processor, with more memory on board. The report states that it hosts 1G of RAM.

The Wall Street Journal’s report also suggests that the new iPad 2 will be more streamlined, and will be thinner, faster, and lighter then the original iPad.

This claim is said to come from “People familiar with the matter” the Wall Street Journal stated.

One of the downsides to the iPad 2 however, is the lack of a Retina display. This is something that many people were expecting with the new device, however they will remain disappointed.

The screen display resolution of the iPad 2 is in fact the exact same as the original iPad, with 1024×768 pixels.

The report also suggests that there is no 4G mobile broadband support on the iPad 2. 4G is said to become available in April.
